Laser Treatment –¬†Tattoo Removal

Tattoo comprises of thousands of particles which are injected into the skin. Tattoo particles are big and they cannot be removed from the skin. Through the laser treatment tattoo particles heat up and breaks into smaller pieces. The smaller pieces can then be removed by normal body process. Tattoo destruction depends on the color of light so that it penetrates deep into the skin. Laser light must be fully absorbed by the tattoo pigment. The heat should be of appropriate quantity. Q-switched lasers are used for laser treatment.


By Lasers:

There are different types of lasers for different tattoo removal. Different types of lasers for tattoo removal are: Q-Switched Frequency-doubled Nd: Tag: 532nm, Q-switched Ruby: 694 nm, Q-switched Alexandrite: 755 nm and Q-switched Nd: YAG: 1064 nm. Laser treatments are affected by the sot size and the width of the laser beam. Larger the spot size, faster will be the treatment.

Tattoo Removal Sessions:

Tattoo is removed by numerous laser sessions. At each session some of the tattoo fragments are broken down into smaller pieces. After seven weeks or so the tattoo is lightened. Number of sessions depends on the area of the body treated, skin type, location, amount of ink, layering and the skin color. Tattoos which are located on the ankles take longest in removing them.


Impediments of laser treatments:

Transient changes to the skin have been seen when treated by laser. These changes may or may not be permanent. Side effects of laser tattoo are discoloration of the skin and textual changes. Tattoo removal is in fact very painful and can cause serious damage to the skin if not done properly. Different types of infections and allergies can occur to the person. Models and children prefer temporary tattoos having a small quantity of ink that come off easily by using oil based creams.
